If I had a dollar for every time some casual car person mentions the Bronco looking great and possibly “waiting until it comes out to buy my next car”and then I have to explain to them that no one actually knows what it’s going to look like and the images they’ve seen are not from Ford... I’d be able to pay cash for a

Please can we stop using that fan-made bronco render without disclaimers? It’s just going to end in disappointment when people actually see the new bronco and it looks more like a jeep than an F-150.

I LOVE this idea!!! I’ve been hoping for a sequel to 2049, but I think long-form treatment from one of the outlets you mentioned could really do it justice, if done right.

My take the day after seeing it:

Your insight just reminds me of how much great mythology and world building the Blade Runner property has.

It blows my mind how much I love this movie and I’m totally down for watching some epic director’s cut.

That scene of him doing the second test was so good. I saw it in one of those Dolby theaters with the bass under the seat and that was the only scene that really made the technology shine. Anyway, I would totally watch a 4 hour cut of this movie

Just look at what the vast majority of current EV owners do. Plug in at home, charge overnight, and never worry about it almost any other time.

Uh, you can “fill up” at your house. It’s one of the main benefits of EV’s. You never have to go to a gas station for normal commuting again.

It seems like every time I try to get gas on a long road trip, there are a bunch of cars sitting at the pumps while the owners have run inside hitting the bathroom and getting some snacks. I will get gas, re-park my car, hit the bathroom and come back outside to see almost all of those cars still parked at the pump

I always have to laugh when I keep hearing about these “5 minute fillups” from the EV haters. Since most EV owners will leave the house every day with a ‘full tank’, the point is moot most of the time. The only time it would make a difference is when traveling long distance. I have to wonder about how these people do

Considering that 10 years ago it took about 5 hours to charge to fastest charging electric car that had less than 200 miles of range.  If in 2020 we can charge 400 miles in 30 minutes (non-linear charging and stuff).  By 2030 we will be able to charge 600 miles in about 10 minutes and damn if that isn’t about better

“Reload while you unload”

I think the norm will be people plugging in their cars at home since most people’s round trip commute is well within the range of any electric car.

The interesting thing will be what happens to truck stops on the interstate where cars will all be charging away from home. If recharging times don’t come down

Given that charging time only matters on long trips, and most people only take, what, a couple of those a year, I think this is generally blown way out of proportion.

Sounds to me like charging will take about the same amount of time as filling up at Costco, once you include waiting in line. I’d say we’ll get used to it, at least until someone figures out a quick-charge process that doesn’t kill the battery faster (or generate crazy heat).

Psh not with Super Hulu no-ads 4k Premium or whatever the highest tier is I’m paying $11.99 a month for. I haven’t seen an ad in months. My parents describe some new funny Geico animals to me and I have zero concept what they’re talking about.

Dear god society is becoming dumber by the second (not like I needed to point this out).

If you thought it was a good idea to attempt this ‘challenge’ initially, an NTSB warning won’t a change a thing. Hell, I doubt most of them even know that the NTSB is a thing that exists.

The connection is further diminished by the fact that nobody cared about this movie, which was actually quite good.
