It’s a CRV.  The driver most likely never even saw the cop, or the train, or anything else.

Cops dont really care about that in Illinois. I’ve passed them doing 5 over. They don’t even get behind me to follow.

Where I grew up in Ohio there was stuff like that all over. The tallest (only) hill in town was made out of old casting sand and reject sparkplugs from the Autolite plant. Hell we used to play in an old Cummins factory until they tore it down.

Awfully close to the tracks on that map... Maybe an old forgotten about derailment? Since there’s usually water there they were just left for dead?

I’ll bet they literally fell of the back of a truck. Mid winter, snow covered and were never seen again.

Buttery smooth shifting soil, though

According to building permit applications, GM could never get approval to build a new plant on the site because of all the shifting soil.

Huh, check again please.

well how do you explain that my rear parking lights are the exact same as my rear night light... there is no differentiation... Go check again yourself, it does not make a difference and additional lights during the day isn’t going to hurt anyone, especially when the sun is down low, it actually helps people seeing

I can’t tell you how many cars I’ve seen lately without headlights on. Either they have DRLs or they only have parking lights / fogs on. If just the parking / fogs are on, it’s so easy to forget to switch on the full headlamps when it’s dark.

This is exactly what I am talking about.

There’s probably be about 3 people in the United States that would be confused if they saw a 1/2 ton truck doing 65 on the highway with amber lights on, let alone the fact that the white fog lamps are on as well. No one uses parking lights for parking anymore...kind of the point of the article.

Just before daylight or sunset, no need for full headlights, but going with parking lights + fog lights is my happy place. It just looks so damn good.

Bingo. Always stay in your lane in situations like this. Swerving is what you do when an oncoming vehicle enters your lane and you’re looking at a head-on collision.

My wife’s old car. An ‘03 Honda Accord. The damn trunk liked to just open itself whenever it felt like it. At first I thought it was her fob being accidentally pushed in her purse, so I had her hang the keys up after I verified her trunk was closed. Three hours later I look out the window and there it was, hanging out

Just spitballing here, but maybe 2,576 will be the quantity produced, and 35 is an indication of where they’ll be built (plant #35 in Michigan?).

Your example is a perfect summary of policing in many jurisdictions:

If the guy who’s job it is to supervise a bunch of people with guns says he wants me to die, I’d take that pretty seriously.

Right? Hell that’s only -7c. I routinely “get in and go”(modern FI engine needs only a minute or so to warm at those temps)when it’s -25.
