First, we need to address the 95% of people I talk to that pronounce console like council. I'm tired of people referring to my cupholders as board members.

Yep. wish all DRLs were parking lamps. I'm sick of 8 volt high beams or "driving lamps" that are completely different from the low beams, high beams, marker lamps, parking lamps, and fog lamps.

I keep two FreeAgent units sitting on my desk, and only one is ever connected - however one is never connected for more than a backup procedure. A spinning disk in a live environment can be a nightmare. If you get infected with external storage plugged in, you could be brewing a storm. I have heard stories about

I've always used WD/HGST for internal storage, WD My Passport for portable storage, G-Drive for Mac, Samsung for SSD, Seagate for local backups, and LaCie for NAS.

Yep, I sat behind this for a good number of my days.

For gauges that don't exist, I use Torque Pro for Android with a $22 OBD-II adapter. Not that anything more than RPM, MPH, water temp, fuel level, oil pressure, and trans temp (those are already present) are important, but it's nice.

Maybe not, but ..if.. a manufacturer decided to add a brand-name (Boston, Bose, Alpine) premium audio option, it would be nice if they did something besides stamp BOSE on the back of each low-end speaker and switch out the amplifier and add a small subwoofer. Not that I know of this ever happening, but in theory.

I'm going to generalize and say Jeep owners are the most likely to take advantage of blank switch space. Some vehicles have actual 'blank switches' installed for intentional custom accessories.

What many may find interesting is that some products from brands like Great Value and Market Pantry are just containers for name-brand product. Let's use milk as an example. It isn't just distributed by the same company. It all comes from the same plant. However, it is very often times region-specific. Where I'm from,

Wish I'd been informed a few years ago. I always keep colognes in a dark, cool cabinet. I had a decent bottle out for an occasion, and left it out on the bathroom counter.. under track lamps with a steamy shower. It was good for the first 2 years, then went bad in the bathroom after 3 days. Smelled like musky

Ranger owners have been putting Mustang rims on their pickups for so long that it's become second thought when I see one in such a way. NP

Squad cars are driven rather conservatively in my neck of rural Illinois. Oh well.

I just hate daytime/driving lamps period. For maybe half a decade until 2003, Chevy used the high-beam bulbs at 10VDC (rather than 13+) as the DRL. They were just as annoying as full-power high-beams. Other

Came here for this comment. Agreed, brother.

It's common for Ford owners to perform this swap, and somewhere along the lines, 'Fummins' was coined. Has been that way for awhile.

Bingo. I travel across IL with mine all the time. However, they are prohibited in commercial vehicles in IL! Certain officers are equipped with radar detector detectors (they're real, trust me!), too. I think my radar detector can detect those - which throws it into a cloaking mode for 60 seconds to prevent detection.

I guess going to the office for internet wouldn't be a good plan for you..

I like how Google doesn't even have accurate satellite imagery for this location. To Bing!

Not too long ago, I did put a laptop cooler in my cabinet - for the hell of it. No heat issues, just a preventative measure. It's powered by the USB port on my Comcast DVR box. If anyone would advise against that, let me know.

I replaced my WRT54g V1.0 (powered by DD-WRT) with a Linksys E1200 (a refurb, about $10 on Black Friday) and I've noticed significant results, even on devices restricted by 802.11g.
