I agree. ATM. Cashback. Change jar. The effort you could have used to pick up the pizza could be used to just retrieve some extra cash before going home and settling in.
Delivery fees are translated into miles. The fees may not go directly toward a driver, but in the end it could possibly be divided up between drivers as reimbursement for gas. Other than that, I've also never heard of the fees going to employees.
Good tips can turn into implied relationships, and they are more likely to take your delivery. Some drivers will pass up your delivery to another driver and give you a bad reputation. Hopefully I regularly see the same driver because of this!
Reading some comments, I thought I was becoming too generous with tips. Some drivers are reimbursed miles, some aren't. I give them the benefit of the doubt (I live in rural Illinois, drivers around here are often required to make 10+ mile, one-way trips).
