I kind of enjoyed that we didn’t get a pat answer, and that Kara (surprisingly!) lost the first round because of it. The obliqueness of the gauntlet was a nice subversion of how these episodes usually wrap up neatly every week. I’m sure the show will reveal what the true answer is at some point, and I do hope it ties

Only watched the first episode, but I thought there were already some hints about the Second Foundation. Gaal Dornick seemed to be a sensitive.

I unabashedly prefer Moffat, but it’s hard to be anything but relieved at this news. I’ve hardly seen anything play out as poorly as, “They got the guy who wrote Dinosaurs on a Spaceship? Well, maybe it won’t be too bad...”

I still can’t believe that the whole Jo Martin as the Doctor bit was just made up on the fly, and not even part of some general outline for a major retcon. That, even more than any of the Timeless Child bullshit, is what I just can’t wrap my head around.

I agree with Darren here. This is indeed a very fitting epitah for the Chibnall era. He almost Eric-Sawarded it right off a cliff. Utterly appalling writer.

Sometimes I think he’s been trolling us before trolling was a thing. That early spoken word stuff is OG WTF. However, I’m fairly sure he’s just in his own strange new world.

I mean sure, it’s twelve seasons in but like half of those don’t count!

This. I hope the show ends with Jimmy getting the reigns to CatCo.

I am boggled why the show is making a new hero with 8 eps left to go.

I can’t tell if the braids are supposed to be real or not in-universe, Kelly doesn’t seem to have the length and volume of hair for those braids. I thought it was supposed to be like the Batwoman cowl with a built-in wig to obfuscate her identity.

He sounded so much like Roy Kent that I was expecting him to turn out to be Brett Goldstein in surrealistic prosthetics.

I’m putting this episode in B territory just for the inclusion of Dave Bautista’s south London doppelgänger.

They literally said he’d recorded material for four episodes. I learned that on this website. I guess Sam will have to be surprised one more time.

Yeah, I think it will be OK, too. The show is rightly recognizing that there needs to be a little work done in the Beard department to get to where it’s going. There is an inevitable Beard and Ted moment that has to happen in the upcoming episodes, and I think we need this next episode focused on Beard to get to it.

You have to read the whole sentence.

Killian thought the Mandarin was a myth, a folk tale, but he knew a lot of people really believed it, so he capitalized on their (supposed) superstitions with Trevor. In All Hail the King, we learn that Killian was mistaken, and the Mandarin isn’t a folk tale, but real. Quelle surprise

This is definitely something that Brendan Hunt seems to understand about the character based on what he has said in interviews, so I feel pretty confident that they won’t give away too much of his story and destroy the mystery that is part of what makes him such an appealing character. But at the same time he is such

The next episode follows Beard on his night out while shaking off the Man City defeat. I think it will be a stand alone episode like the Christmas episode.
