I kind of hope Justified has it's budget slashed at some point so they have to do an entire episode that's just everyone bullshitting around the marshal's office. It'd be like a Kentucky version of Archer.

My take is that the Reavers recognize and accept their own, and smelled that that guy was one of the genetic freaks that react badly to the Pax, so they left him alive while they went to town on the rest of the crew.
