The Ponds’ friends can never understand what it means to travel with The Doctor and The Doctor will never really grasp the appeal of everyday, adventure-free existence.

At the beginning of "Objects in Space," Book and Jayne are talking about Book's vow of celibacy. He says it's variable, depending on the specific order of Shepherds you're ordained in. So, some priests in his denomination are allowed to get married, but he chose a group with more stringent practices.

This was always one of my biggest problems in the episode, until someone pointed out that the exact same situation happens in "Bushwacked." It's easily inferable that Mal is going to hand over Simon and River when they're boarded by the Alliance, and Simon starts freaking out. Mal refuses to explain himself even

I suspect that Rory's line about being 31 was a mistake, since Arthur Darvill is 30 in real-life. It might've just been a slip from the writers forgetting that not only should Amy and Rory be the same age, Darvill is five years older than Karen Gillan, who's two years older than Amy.

The whole crew was in on it. Inara criticizes their "performances" at the end, and if you watch the first scene with Saffron talking to them again, it becomes obvious that Wash is being a little extra whacky, and Kaylee can't stop giggling like she was in school and someone told her the teacher's chair has a whoopee
