but if you're going to dim the lights to watch the video better, then odds are you're not doing other tasks besides watching that video.

I agree. Though I've bought some cars before for people on Christmas. Normally this is what they are from here

The start screen is not overlayed on the 'traditional' desktop unless you use one of the 'hot corners' to bring up the charms bar. Merely stating that I use both UIs separately on different machines

OK, so are you agreeing with me that there's no reason to hate Windows 8, or did you mistakenly think I was hating on it? For the record, I was just stating that whenever an article comes up about Windows 8, the haters of it will climb out of the woodwork to bash it as well as bash anyone that likes Windows 8 by

I disagree partially. I'd gladly take a Crock Pot from a friend, if they made me a nice meal in it. Namely the gift is the food, not so much the crock pot, as they use it to transport the stew or pot roast, etc.

On my rig I have it set to boot to desktop and show apps when I press Start. On the HTPC, however, I keep the Metro UI since it fits much better for that purpose.

I've seen Windows 8 boot at SSD speeds on a 5,400 rpm HDD. Though I find that if a computer boots in less than 30 seconds, that it's irrelevent on how 'fast' it is past that. If one is that impatient for it to boot, then perhaps putting it to sleep may serve you better depending on the environment you use the machine

Waiting for the hordes of the Windows 8 bashing trolls to swarm in and muck up the post. Seems inevitable nomatter where you go online. If windows 8 is mentioned, all the naysayers have to hurry up and begin with the negativity and ruin things.

Vote: Cruzerlite Bugdroid TPM case.

If people can call Battlefield/CallofDuty games great, then Half-Life 2 still deserves to be there too.

I see. Though the Roku 3 is the highest tier model they make so while it may be older from the release date, it's the most feature packed one. Models 1 and 2 are more basic models. Now, if the Roku 1 and 2 were out but the Roku XD was still around then i could see how buying the previous gen at the higher price would

My brother had that happen. the motors failed and the windows wouldn't roll down. It was summer time with a black painted Jeep Cherokee in the 115 degree heat and a leather interior. Not fun.

I miss these hand crank windows. Way more reliable. I've already had to replace my front passenger side motor because it went bad, and the sad part is that it wasn't used as often as my drivers window. Though I may have to replace it too before long. It's taking longer for it to roll and it sounds like the motor is

And the issue with that is? Not trolling, just curious why that is a problem

That is one sweet setup. My G35 helps a bit, though thinking of buying a C7 Vette in April and trade-in my G35 against part of it.

That's why I play racing games and collect 1:18 scale model cars. It's as close as I'll ever get to the real thing and is only slightly better than reading about it/skimming pics on the net or magazines.

I may look into that. I like that concept of virtual accounts for online shopping.

The ones that grind my gears are the ones where people text like they're 3 years old: "how r u doing im going 2 be l8 wtf r u saying y r u mad" Granted back when phones had very few characters to use to send a message, shorthand worked. These days, however, there is more room to type out messages.

Because there aren't hundreds of different handsets with Apple's iOS like there are for Android. Also add to that Google has no control over what carriers and OEMs do with their version of AOSP when they make a phone. This is why the Nexus line of devices from Google are so popular to the more tech-savvy crowd, as

That sounds like a very cool feature. What bank?
