Don't forget to close apps that eat data when you're not using them (depending on phone, holding the home key and swiping away active programs or using a task manager) It helps battery sometimes as well. Or just use wi-fi for the data hogs if you can.

At work, I keep my email open by itself on my second monitor so that I can stay on top of issues as they come in as well as other important emails from bosses or clients. At home I check it once when i log in and once more before logging out.

Indeed, though the fans I use are the silent type (no pun intended) to aid in keeping things quiet. Though it's not as big of a deal since I've good speakers and headset.

I mostly prefer air cooling, but I've overclocked my CPU, so the extra chill helps. GPU-wise, I've got plenty of cool air going to it and it is fairly quiet in the 900D chassis

This is why I use a sealed liquid cooler (Corsair H110 sealed unit).
