EeePC 1000HE here, Win7'd. Official specs state 9.5 hours on six cell battery for XP. I actually approach that on Win7 if I turn the wifi off. With wifi on, I'm getting 7 hours regularly for browsing, taking notes, and writing papers. I'm a happy camper :) #netbooks

I run Vista Home Premium 64, and I just have bad luck with webcam recording. I have a Logitech Quick Cam Pro 9000, and logitech's own software won't even load. And any time I try to let a webpage use the camera, like this one or Facebook it crashes the browser (Firefox, IE, Chrome). And yet at the same time Gmail

I can understand critics of netbooks as a whole, in their current states and capabilities, complaining about the lack of powerful graphics capabilities, IF said netbook happens to be their main computer.

There really wasn't much truth to the Eee 1000HE's battery claims under XP. I never went over 7 hours. However, under Windows 7, If you turn down the brightness and turn off the wifi, it will go for 9, almost 10 hours. With the wifi on, it'll go more than 7. Both of these situations are much better than they were

I just finished building a new surface for my corner frame desk. I took a metal corner framed desk with faux-wood surface of unknown origin that I found on Craigslist, and built a new wood surface on top. The desk is quite large: 75" on one side, 70" on the other. About 28" deep. It's made of three panels. Cabinet

Since I was finally able to use get my codecs right, Vista Media Center has been perfect for me. I'll update VLC, but I don't use it much anymore. WMC will even play my saved Apple High Def trailers!

@SJRNWT: Perhaps beta testers who actually provide useful feedback, rather than people who just download and play with the beta, but never tell what went wrong/good with it. I know a lot of people who toyed around with it for a couple of days and would want the same benefit as someone who spent weeks/months really
