Something I learned recently was part of cast member rotations occasionally includes time dedicated to “make magic” which would be code for look for special opportunities to make a guest’s day special.

Inflation might not be the bogeyman everyone believes it is – especially in light of rising student loan debt. While wages do lag behind, inflation effectively offsets lending interest rates, making it easier for consumers with fixed rate loans to payoff their debt.

You can’t win if you don’t play!

You’re missing that cars idling in traffic produce the same, if not more emissions than vehicles operating at efficient (read normal) speeds. So a commute that takes 1 hour produces less emissions than a commute that takes twice as long because you are inching along in traffic.

I don’t fly a lot, and I’ve never experienced lost luggage. But I just don’t get people who want all their luggage in the cabin with them. Hauling luggage around an airport is a pain. Just check everything except a small backpack, purse or laptop bag. You have less to worry about, and your luggage will be waiting near

I stayed at a hotel in the Anaheim area. On checkout, I checked with the clerk, and she indicated everything we would be charged for was on the statement.

This isn’t necessarily true for places like Dominos that always have coupons available. Using currently available coupons in my area, a $5.99 12-inch pizza is a slightly better value at 5.3¢ per square inch than a $10.99 16-inch pizza at 5.47¢ per square inch.

My smaller city is dealing with a lot of legacy traffic-impacting holdovers like parking lot access very close to intersections. Too many drivers believe they are being the nice guy by stopping so a car can exit a parking lot, forgetting the dozen or so vehicles now stopped behind them.

I wonder how well this works with a 2-ton diesel pickup right behind you in the line?

There have been so many breaches, I’d assume 95% of the population with a credit card is already covered by some form of credit monitoring. I’m not even sure what breach my current service is from, but I get the monthly email alerts that noting has changed.

The Waffle House Index simplifies the availability of critical infrastructure. Water & flame is all that’s needed for a limited menu serving just pancakes. Full menu availability implies power is on with refrigeration for perishables like meats. Total shutdown implies employees could not travel to work either due to

My first job in the mid-90's was working in the video rental department of a local grocery chain store. Prime’s monthly additions bring back a lot of nostalgia for me, and also some less than fond memories of the creepy guys who were always first to rent 90's T&A films.

Dictionaries are not language rule books; they are historical records of how words are used.

Not in government, but at a telecom utility company that operates the same. I spent my first few years scripting and automating. Now, I find myself putting work off so I have at least one thing to do every weekday. I finished a bachelors degree 95% at work over the last 4 years. I can’t get management to upgrade

Assuming you have competent management that can be bothered to give you a job description beyond “whatever duties we assign you.”

Just looking at this graphic visually, it’s obvious we’re overdue for a bear market.

Look at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland. They already had to stop using the special “space” sporks because so many were disappearing.

Yes, people have jobs, but even with low unemployment, take-home pay is not increasing. The health insurance mandate pushed many employers to split FT positions into two PT roles. Workers are putting in more hours for less compensation, and limited job security.

Risk normally increases with longer term investments. The bond rate inversion reveals investors see higher risk in the short-term. Changes in the US political landscape over the next 18 months could be very volatile. The uncertainty has investors worried.

I earned an A.S. from a state junior college immediately after high school. I was very lucky to get a relatively high paying job because of my extracurriculars. Looking back, I wish I had gone on to complete 4 years of college, but not for the degree. I missed out on social experiences and developing connections. I
