You bring up a great point that the driver or passenger cannot see or interact with a toddler in the rear-facing position. Not being able to keep an eye on them seems much more likely to result in a dangerous situation.

I’m very surprised at these new recommendations. We’ve had to switch kids from rear-facing because most cars aren’t built to accommodate that much space without compromising the seat position in front of the child. Effectively, to fit a rear-facing seat, the front passenger (or driver) must sit closer than recommended…

And the article is exactly right. Cash flow is much more important than making money. Look at large businesses like Amazon, Snapchat, or Yelp. Those companies don’t turn a profit for years and still grow. Then look at something like Sears or Toy’s R Us. Those companies couldn’t keep the cash flowing and died.
