A precondition to burnout is to have been highly motivated and engaged. I've been thoroughly burned out probably three times in my life and each time I began in a blaze of glory and energy. The fall is sudden and hard and I never recovered from my burnouts. I always wound up getting canned.

It's a fine line between the right amount of vinegar and too much. I've also found that using a wok-type pan helps. Seems to disperse the heat better and keep the water at a simmer better.
