So much is going on with that sequence. It begins as fairly naturalistic domestic drama, gets rather odd with the appearance of Red (who's probably responsible for the apparent zombie epidemic), suddenly shifts into startling and suspenseful action, cools down for a comic turn, and then seamlessly morphs into what's

Yes! The honking originally felt like pure Lynchian ambience, and when Bobby actually reacted to it I was intrigued. The screaming driver was both frightening and more than a little comical, but then it dovetailed into a completely new and horrifying direction . I have no idea what's going on.

Agreed about the old lady's memorable and dramatically different appearance. The music is really central to the scene, and it's telling that it's called "Heartbreak". Dougie seems unusually perturbed throughout that scene. Pair that with the use of "Viva Las Vegas" and this episode feels almost elegiac in a strange

Also, the overt horror movie influence came back again in a big way, and not one I was anticipating at all.

Tonight's episode was tonally fascinating, as that storyline was even more funny but also more overtly melancholy than it usually plays as.

A possibly belated happy birthday, Randy!

I'm hoping this means her character doesn't die a tragic death or anything.

Exactly, I found this almost as disturbing as funny for that reason.

Personally I think it's very rude to tell Semi to "STOP IT B*TCH" but at least you're not saying that to Naomi Watts, I guess.

I mean, it probably is. I don't see why Watts would create a fake text conversation with Lynch, even if it is a very funny one.

That's her real instagram, so I'm inclined to think yes, but I have no real way of knowing.

I always say David Lynch's greatest virtue is his accessibility.

Seems like he's a fan of the program. I have to reconsider some things.

Herman Cain won't stop tweeting stills from Twin Peaks: The Return. He also tweeted an image comparing Joe Scarborough to Jack Nance in Eraserhead, a vile crime against the dignity of Nance. I am very confused.

That date was adorable. That sort of thing is the closest this show gets to fan service. And we haven't even talked about Harry Dean Stanton singing yet!

I expected a lot of this stuff to pay off somehow, but it was exciting to get a lot of further development in one episode. The fact the show is focusing in more on Twin Peaks plotlines as the Las Vegas and South Dakota sections of the story appear to be nearing their climax probably isn't a coincidence. Though I don't

Speaking of walking cliches, I find what Lynch ended up doing with Candie strangely fascinating.
