Ooooh, I should read that journal!

Fantastic to see you again, man! Truly a glorious Christmas present.

they did this all just to put on a show for him! A true Christmas miracle!

Amy's Santa headband! Everyone's sweater! Bear!

And it aired on Lifetime?

Currently reading my first Pynchon, the Crying of Lot 49. It is excellent.

I don't know if it matters in terms of overall quality but it does impact how I take the show and my impressions of it, obviously.

Kilgrave is the Princess Peach of that season.

I'm inclined to agree with some of that. It would have bothered me more if it didn't wind up feeling like the most natural outcome of the show's evolution over the course of the seasons, but it was a little off putting in some minor ways. Hannibal definitely winds up being as much the "hero" of the show as Graham ever

You're not even directly the subject of the Aeneid, loser, and the Carthaginian Dido is the best part of that poem anyway. #longlivehannibal

The fact that Luke makes himself a green lightsaber instead of the traditional blue "light side" one seems to indicate this kind of mix of light and darkness, but Return of the Jedi doesn't wind up doing much with it, at least overtly.

Retroactively, the Jedi Order being kind of a bunch of assholes in the prequels makes total sense and is one of the more interesting aspects of those films. The fact that Force powers are seemingly hereditary and innate raises some problems for the general population.

In the Star Wars universe the Jedi can never really win, since the films themselves so dramatically lack the austerity which characterizes the supposed "light side" of the Force.

Rebecca Bunch referenced Kafka in a job application and I referenced Melville when describing the theme song. Basically the same person.

At least seven! There will be many more renditions to come!

"California Christmastime" indeed belongs to any new Christmas song pantheon.

You'll be vindicated the day you get a titular play by the Bard himself.

Jessica Jones's best episode (whichever one had Kilgrave and Jessica in her recreated house) was far beyond anything Daredevil accomplished in my opinion. Regarding the rest of the season, I'm inclined to agree.

You'd just wind up screwing me and Cleo over anyway.

Not everywhere. The use of CGI is weirdly arbitrary and half assed. It's enough to be distracting but not enough to make the film appear contemporary.
