I also have some money tied up in Prosper. Their not bad investments, but certainly not the best either. Basically carry about the same risk as High Yield "Junk" bonds, but with a lower historical return.

Series I savings bond are another good option. Tax efficient, and matches inflation (in other words, about a 2% savings rate).
