Hawking also extensively covered the beginning of the universe in both "A Brief History of Time" and "The Universe in a Nutshell".
A big fan of your posts Kat, especially living in a close time zone, but you need to get better on picking your fonts!
My grandfather was a civil engineer under communism. He is constantly amazed at the kinds of architectural concepts that people are able to come up with now that so many of the calculations on loads/whatever else can be done by computer. These kinds of designs simply weren't possible to calculate many years ago, I…
@KillerBee: Hmm, if it cooks off, then maybe inhaling the fumes from the fryer would be the best way to get drunk. It would be the perfect acne creating drunk machine!
"Go on, tell me how many pieces it would take for you to get plastered."

@Tyrunn: Don't worry man, if you keep commenting, a different editor who values reasonable opinion will likely give it back. Unfortunately for you, this article was written by somebody who doesn't like independent thought...
@Spaceboy: I think we could at least do better limiting the detrimental effects of them.
I wonder how much longer I'll be able to resist letting everybody know where I am all the time, I don't think much longer.
The conversion of mm to square inches has my brain tangled.
I want this for so many reasons. Not only would it be compatible with FD lenses without modification (as well as a slew of other lenses that don't work on the EOS format), but it's small, light and would turn my 500mm Pentacon into 1000mm effective.
@Tyrunn: I got destarred for saying the same thing...
@espinha: That's because the money is going into things less important. No matter, there's too many people anyways!
I'm pretty much the only person left on the globe that doesn't have a netbook/laptop or smartphone. What this unfortunately does to me, is ensures that I need to go into the office or be tethered to my desktop at home to do work. This looks like it might finally give me a better option!
Being an amateur astrophotographer, I've become incredibly interested in the weather. Yesterday was one of the first times I've seen something that looked like a hurricane over Europe. The weather here has been crazy this year.
This does look really really nice. Too bad the price doesn't even make sense. Then again, people who are more interested in displaying their precious magazines than reading them probably have the cash to dump on this kind of stuff.
It's amazing what they can do with the 4/3 format. The fact that the image circle doesn't need to be so large, allows them to really fiddle with the lenses, allowing for such small, yet versatile zooms. I hope to get one of these cameras eventually, simply to be able to use FD lenses, but the prices are still a bit…
