Ah, yes. another Adult Swim specialty: four minutes of premise jammed into twelve minutes of tedium. *Slow clap*.

I know I'd watch 90 minutes of Kenan's Sharpton (or his haunted tree) before putting up with ten seconds of Drunk Uncle. Between that and Iggy, the ol' Mute button got a workout tonight.
The only notable part of the car sketch was the sloppiness of the greenscreen video that had Silverman apparently picked up on the shoulder of the freeway. Moynihan is the modern-day Horatio Sanz; inexplicable in his presence and gratingly unfunny.
Any review that praises McKinnon's crazy eyes (or any aspect of her performance style), calls Pharoah's Obama world-class (fer chrissakes; Armisen's was better), and finds Kenan's WU spot at Sharpton weak is strictly from the Bizarro World.
There was a calendar gadget on someone's desk (Peggy's?) that was turned to "31." Given that March 31, 1969 was a Monday, I pegged that as being the episode date — which fits with the usual every-episode-is-a-month-apart timeline.
I honestly don't know how bad an episode of this show has to be for you to grade it at less than an A. They ran out of plot at the end of Season 7 and the whole affair has been coasting on fumes and goodwill ever since. I can't imagine a show having a worse episode than this one, and yet, you give it top marks. I just…
Under normal circumstances, sure. But given that the whole (over-elongated) final season is based on a strict timeline, that kind of a thing pushes it.
I thought the whole thing was distastefully maudlin, even by this show's low standards. And am I to understand that Barney encountered those kids at 5 am and took them to a full strip club and a party that was going full blast with a 9 pm vibe? Nothing in this episode made sense.
I want to speculate that the person who appears at the end of the third episode is the same person mentioned in passing earlier in the episode.
Was there something in the budget deal that Moynihan is now federally required to appear on Weekend Update every week? Cause there's sure no other reason.
