same with artificial legs and stuff. problem is, technology does not give back 1:1 what one misses. it can always easily improve on that. one simple thing is the ability to chose (turn them off if you're annoyed by the noises, chose other legs for other purposes). and quickly, the one with "normal hearing" or ordinary

I guess they aim from orbit to orbit, and from each orbit to the surface. Directly targeting the earths surface would be quite a problem.

maybe that's a security thing? you know, like don't put your cat into the microwave.. :)

I guess, in space it's rather empty, so less of an issue than it would be here on land (and still, it's used in some places.. was fun as we found out the network always dropped when a bird was flying trough the laser :))

I was lucky to get my omnia. Took over half a year to be available officially here (switzerland).

I could give you my omnia 7 and get one of the new ones :)

well, if they can see the comment, because they are allowed to see the other ones post (and thus the comments of it), it's not a privacy issue.

stuff like fb and twitter help me quite a bit for getting a new job. social connections, real or online, always help. if done right.

they don't ask for it or not. the privacy settings don't change. the stuff can be done outside of facebook right now. one could write a grabber that does the very same thing.

indeed. every change on fb and the world goes omg change it back it's so bad omg fb sucks lets leave. very annoying.

microsoft steered rather 180° lately. but yeah, they needed quite some time to get their asses moving again.

it was so far the most accurate theory out there. it's the one that f.e. gives us accurate gps among other things.

well, there are lots of similarities. both are about huge giant space robots with tons of action scenes that look awesome, right? wait, no.

no. i don't have a tv per se, and never watch any of those things. anything "reality + doku" is the reason why i don't use a tv anymore.

if you have the urge to castrate, just move to win7 back. much more useful in the end. let win8 be for those that actually care about metro right now: the developers.

and the most important thing: there's no reason to move over to win8 yet except (mainly) for the metro stuff. and there's about nothing there yet. no metro apps, no store to access any new ones, nothing. only tiny demos showing that it works, nothing useful.

i have about 25 on my taskbar, another 5-10 on the startmenu (pinned), and the rest quickly accessible trough search, not by clickering trough the menu (definitely the slowest way to access anything).

don't watch it, then? i'd like a fourth, always fun mindless entertainment.

the way you use it still works in win8.

you don't need a third party app, pin your stuff to the taskbar. that's the concept of win7. startmenu to search your stuff, rest on the taskbar.
