Alabama has a TON of fans. The school is huge. You’re statistically more likely to have a funny phone call on a national TV show. Calm down with the persecution conspiracy.
* I think you meant 16
Both Army and Navy were consistent top 10 teams (I think 2013 was broke in this regards because the academies always ended up really good).
As long as they allow users to create roster files and share them, they might as well just make the players random while keeping the “feel” of each team correct. Hell, I’d take it a step further and make it “College Football 2016", remove actual team and conference names (like it’s the early 90s), and allow full user…
Why wouldn’t people be interested in it? Those players are gone after 4 seasons anyway. My dynasty mode was never about playing with the correct Boston College roster from whatever year it was.
I forgot what version it was but I played using Hawaii from the WAC. After a few dominant seasons, the team got invited into the PAC-10/12. Thus beginning my reign over Everyone.
Losing out on a 5-star recruit from Canada who chose to go to Army was the low point of my NCAA 2010 recruiting initiative. I’ve yet to figure that one out.
Best game was when they had the gimmick of “Home Field Advantage” and the camera started to shake. This caused the opposing team’s players to get rattled!
If you play dynasty that’s basically what’s happening after season 2
I think so. Part of the fun of the game was dynasty mode, where recruiting and building up a team would make it unrecognizable. The other fun part was playing as a new recruit and building up to a Heisman winner.*
Hope so. Complete with a create-a-school feature again. Last time I checked, Madden removed that team building feature. It’s the only thing that made those games fun to me.
Did they still find a way to lose to Navy? It was a pretty low point when the entire Corps was given PMI for ‘being good fans’ after a miserable loss in ‘05 to Connecticut. It’s not like we could leave early.
I remember a time before roster downloads when I would painstakingly enter every single player name into the game from each team’s roster.
Had the same problem as Wake Forest. Ended up taking over the opposing teams against higher ranked opponents. Nothing like having Akron suddenly upset Alabama to improve ones chances at the title game.
The best part was when they added a bunch of peoples’ names to the player creation tool - like, all of a sudden, Nessler was finally calling MY name at QB... it was awesome. That was in NCAA Football 06 I think. My favorite version of the game.
I hope they come back, I've started using the ratings in the NCAA games to change the ratings in Madden to see how players change since college (Trent Richardson is surprisingly mobile) and I would love to revive the UAB Dynasty.
The hardest part was always getting the game’s algorithms to allow an undefeated Wyoming into the championship game in the first place. Stupid BCS. (All reference from EA SPORTS NCAA Football 12 TM.)
Never understood why they wouldn’t just come out with all generic rosters. Leave in the roster editor and let your customers do all the dirty work.
Pretty much the only reason I still have my XBox 360 is just so I can play NCAA 14. It is a great game, and once they made recruiting less time consuming, it is fun to play. Hope they are able to bring it back.
