I know. Vikram's headlines are structured like my mother's compliments.

The show has the best ratings HBO has ever had in the 10:30 timeslot.

The viewer we be rewarded when the viewer finishes the season.

Amazing.

I think it's more the latter. We have to write our character's story first so you can't impose too much of an agenda. But unlike say, MADAM SECRETARY, we don't have to pull punches and we can name names. If you're looking for a thesis though, it's more along the lines of "politics are absurd."

I think we're doing something different. The best version of this show, and something we constantly strive for, is something that isn't on TV right now and really hasn't been: a fast-moving, densely plotted, high stakes dramedy that deals with real world politics. There are plenty of these shows in the drama space,

Yeah, us writers usually skip to the comments too. Thanks for watching. We're pretty proud of this episode, or at least I am. It's a hard show to write, and at least for me, this is was the ep where I understood the potential of this show.
