This. When I first heard about this project I was pretty skeptical because I assumed he would make it all ‘edgy and gritty.’ But the more I see of it, the more I like it.

Came here to say the same. Daria’s still one of the best written shows of the turn of the century, but with the original music it’s even better.
I actually really liked ‘Big Fish’, but that was an outlier after the high water mark of ‘Ed Wood.’ Even Mars Attacks was just... fine.
Love & Anger was always my heartbreak soothing song.
I know that it’s video imagery and not actually in the lyrics, but in my headcanon “Babooshka” is “Escape” but the woman pulls out a sword at the end.
I am a borderline-obsessed Kate Bush fan and I agree with you.
Rocket’s Tail shows Kate’s remarkable magic in making me somehow teary about ridiculous storylines.
The audacity of writing a 14 minute song about having sex with a snowman is ::chef’s kiss: peak Kate Bush eccentricity, and I’m not being remotely sarcastic in my love for it.
Most folks I knew who were obsessed with Kate (including me) also had a pretty healthy love for Siouxsie, but I don’t know that this always ran the opposite way.
I did a Buffy re-watch just a couple of months ago, and I can’t believe that it took me so long to notice that Tara’s pretty much doing the ‘Wuthering Heights’ dance in this song. In general, this being a sapphic, witchy song full of insinuations, it’s (intentionally or not) one of the best Kate parodies out there:
“Get Out Of My House” is such a great introduction to Kate. When I first heard it as a kid it was such a weird mix of hilarious and haunting (Donkey noises! But also the wailing feels so guttural and authentic!) It both made me uncomfortable but also made me want to listen to it over and over again.
I know Joss is an absolute turd, but I still feel like it’s weird having an article about how ‘the cheerleader always dies in horror’ without mentioning Buffy.
One of my favorite things about Stranger Things is how they turned the ‘alpha bully’ trope on its head with Steve. He started out as a shitty, abusive jock, then learned and evolved and became one of the series’ most lovable characters.
Maybe because Disney also owns Hulu nowadays and they’re both already over there.
It’s scary, but Daria has been off the air for so long now that they could make the series about Jodie’s DAUGHTER starting out her career and it wouldn’t break continuity timelines.
I have one! It IS a bit hard to sip from directly, but makes a great tiki mug, which you’d use a straw for anyway!
I watched the show when Craig Ferguson was the host and stopped when he retired from it. The show’s appeal was really all about him.
Nope, the first time he acted up she’d be all “Get Out Of My House! I won’t put up with this Hammer Horror! Other people may think of you as the Man with the Child In His Eyes, but I’m not about to put up with mixing Love & Anger. You had the best relationship ever just Sat In Your Lap, but all this mess isn’t worth…
Was it up a hill?
Do you mean Kate Moss? Because Kate Bush would NEVER!
