Society’s reached a new low? As opposed to the good ol’ days of segregation, slavery, internment camps and lynching? But, you know, society was totes better back then because people stayed married, amiright?
Right? I can’t even bring myself to snark on that :/
My girlfriend and I were JUST talking about this last week! Although, while I do like Taylor Swift just fine, we were thinking of headliners more like Sara Bareilles or Ingrid Michaelson. Taylor just doesn’t feel very ‘Lilith Faire’, y’know? Plus, a Taylor Swift headlining festival pretty much guarantees I wouldn’t be…
I mean, we DO need better mental health treatment, but probably not the way they mean. For instance, I live and work in a pretty densely populated city and services are stretched thin. I’ve dealt with clients who absolutely needed to go into a licensed care facility, but they couldn’t because the waitlist is…
Well, sure, and old cars don’t have the same safety precautions as new ones, but it doesn’t mean that new ones aren’t built with those precautions. Eventually, the old ones age out.
As somebody who works with folks who have mental health issues, I always squirm a bit when these issues come up and folks say ‘we need to do screening to make sure people with mental disorders don’t get guns.’ WHICH mental disorders? ‘Mental Disorders’ is such a wide, blanket, umbrella term that it’s virtually…
Right? Like, on reflection I think I COULD have dated in High School if I wanted to, but my brain was fixated on getting the hell out of my cruddy little town the SECOND I graduated, so I was determined not to let anything into my life that might slow me down.
I actually knew LOTS of girls in High School who were dating guys in their early to mid-twenties. Later on when I grew up and moved out of that cruddy little town, I discovered that many of my former classmates who stayed behind started dating teenagers once THEY reached their early to mid twenties. It was like this…
I can never quite wrap my brain around how this thought process works. Do they really HONESTLY believe that the only men who end up in relationships are chest-beating bro-style Alphas? Like, don’t they have anyone in their lives that prove that regular folks can have relationships? Friends? Family members? Co-workers?…
I guess it’s only fair that I ungrey all the folks who hate me now - I have no one to blame but myself ::shrug::
I AM half Italian. Maybe it’s genetic instinct!
I’m one of those hateful people who uses a fork for pizza. I have a lifelong habit of dissecting all my food and eating it in a systematic way. My method for eating pizza is that I scrape off and eat all the toppings first, then eat the cleaned-off crust separately while dipping it in ranch.
“Who the hell put the director of all the disaster porn movies in charge of doing an LGBT film?”
The thing about being ‘colorblind’ is that it mean that you’re completely oblivious about why things are clashing.
I dunno, I don’t remember him being THIS flat when he was younger. He used to be alert at least some of the time, but nowadays he just mumbles through interviews and looks as though he’s about to drop off to sleep.
Yeah, well my sock puppet gallery opening was friggin’ AWESOME so, you know... your loss, man.
I recommend a swoopy Carmen Sandiego-esque hat, but in black. But then again, you shouldn’t listen to me; my accessory suggestion is ALWAYS a swoopy Carmen Sandiego-esque hat.
Nope. Baptist. I was dragged to a lot of Baptist churches in my youth, including an honest-to-gods Baptist Megachurch.
“Does anyone else but me remember the terrible backlash one couple got on that site for having a hobo themed wedding?”
What’s sad is that it’s not that I don’t remember it, it’s that I don’t know which one you mean because ‘hobo-themed’ events are SO. COMMON.
