Can't agree more about the Goo Goo Dolls. Three near-perfect albums in a row from Hold Me Up, Car Wash and Boy Named Goo. No one believes me when I tell people that those albums rock.

Seedy underbelly? Then you need to start off with stuff by Don Hertzfeldt and quality adult anime.

It's their best by a mile, for sure. One of the most complete albums I've heard.
