I get the appeal of these cars and I remember a dealer nearby my home had them and I thought if I want a Toyota that can haul things, be versatile and look odd I’ll just go and buy a Pontiac Vibe or Matrix! My family agreed and just recently traded it in after 10 years of loyal sevice( Pontiac Vibtrix)

Back when Frank Sinatra was shilling for the Chrysler Corporation Lee Iacocca gave him one of these. He also did it for Chrysler for the Imperial, and had a special paint code Ol’ Blue Eyes. What you need to do with this car, it’s to find the later generation VNT turbo engine and run it like hell.

I read over his list of what he’s had to do to keep it running and my question is: shouldn’t he have replaced the timing belt/chain by now? Call me old fashioned but I was told by owners maunals and family that a belt/ chain should be replaced at 100k and the water pump while your at it. Have I been getting the wrong…
