Yeah, it’s a cool setting. Old dirt track with a lot of growth in the infield. Crazy how close the track was to the river. Legend has it that NASCAR wanted to build a Super Speedway in Hillsborough, but town leaders didn’t like them racing on Sundays, so NASCAR looked elsewhere and built Talladega.
