Ehh. 700lbs heavier than a contemporary Miata. But with two extra cylinders, nearly double the power, nicer materials, quieter ride.

it looks in damn good shape for nearly 200k miles. and glancing at autotrader shows worse examples still with 125-150k miles for higher prices. ill give it a NP.

With used car prices..... blah, blah, blah. Yeah, a year ago I would say with those mile this would be an easy No Dice choice however since these are strange times, I’ll reconsider. I’ll go with this is a Nice Price since it is in great shape, a lot has been replaced with new or aftermarket so I guess I can look past

Great, now they’re going to want to audit NPOND votes.  STOP THE DEAL!

as a former owner, i would looooooove to drive an x1/9 again. they way that thing took corners was so exciting. but owning another one? the price may say $12,500, but that’s just for you to actually get it. two weeks later there will be a fuse issue. after that, the starter wire will go. a crack in the washer fluid

Just for shits and giggles, check this one on eBay:

ND.  Ask the man who owned one.

A lot of people hated the big rectangle lamps on these things, even when they came out, and preferred the Euro Golf look. Personally, I liked the big chunky rectangles, but it was a common mod. It isn’t an automatic red flag, and it is a relatively simple swap-it is basically clip on stuff, but you want to check that

Being a reformed VW fanboy, it’s funny to see some of the first comments here. Some answers for the culturally uninformed:

I’d buy it, after a careful inspection by a VW tech. It’s clean, somewhat interesting and the price isn’t stupid.

It’s not *quite* accusing someone of Nazi sympathies because they once owned a VW Beetle made in the ‘70s, but it’s only a step or two removed from it.

Yep. Before I saw that, I was wondering if the terrible grey dash top and steering wheel are donor replacements after airbag deployments.

The paint doesn’t match on the passenger side doors. You can clearly see this in both passenger side photos.

Norovirus for all the finalists.

I’m down with that..

The implications being, what? A guy who wants to kidnap a high schooler will happen to be driving around your neighborhood, see the sign, know that “Emily” lives there, and use that to kidnap her? Like, that is an insanely rare occurrence. It’s far more likely Emily burns down the house with her in it trying to make

Quick look at pricing for premium EVs:

A base model 7 series is 86k, 103k for a 750i, all the way up to 157k for an M760. The base S class is 110k. A Tesla Model S starts at $69420, all the way up to a loaded up Plaid+ for 157k. All of those cars sell fairly well. I don’t think the price is unreasonable.

Geez! Here I’ve been living and driving in Canada, thinking I knew about the virtues of AWD. But I never really knew about how useless it is until a person from Houston dropped some anecdotal knowledge on me about the one time they drove in the snow.

I’d be very surprised if modern automatics got worse gas mileage than a manual. They’re literally programmed to get the best gas mileage possible. Especially with them having like 8 or more gears now.
