I never look at the slideshow. I can’t stand the format which is too bad as Mercedes is one of the best writers on this site.
Some of these images seem proportioned like a diorama image of a toy car. It’s a collector’s piece. I would give up the asking price for this if it didn’t mean I would be using it as my new residence. NP
This price seems high for the miles and with a 4-cylinder. I really liked the idea of this car when it was first released. Then I saw one in person. I saw one a few weeks ago and realized I still don’t like the lines. I would rather have a tall wagon and so would most people. ND for me.
Small, old trucks are super hot. These are easy to repair and can last forever if not visited by the salt gods. This is an NP for me. I would prefer a manual, but this would still be fun and useful. It’s been about eight years since my brother paid $2500 for a rust-free one of these with 60-65k on the odo. Prices…
Agreed, I would much rather have this.
I fully understand the vehicle’s ancestry. This sadly is a 1989 model hence my comment. Yes, in 1990 this would have been nearly new from the lot.
“I bought it from an older couple that towed it behind their bus.”
I believe Rob posts some ads to get an accurate troll count. This might be a fun, nostalgia ride with a stick. It still wouldn’t be a fun $10.5K ride even with a stick. I agree someone might bite at $5-6K. ND for me.
I would feel like a crabby, old man driving this thing and feeling I should be rolling down the windows to yell get off my lawn, BUT this is a reasonable price. NP for someone.
I’ve been told the same. I’ve found its best to back into what you want. I present multiple different, lesser desired vehicles with the expectation of rejection. After time, return back to the original target which eventually makes it into our driveway. I’m not sure you will have time to work on this strategy before…
As the owner of an older Miata, I have no idea why anyone would want to replace its lines with a retro fiberglass unit. It seems well done, but the dollars are too much for the miles and the extra add-ons are the seller’s cost not the buyer’s price. Unless someone craves a fake, diminutive Ferrari knock-off, this is…
Impreza 5-door is a great choice. Easy to park on campus yet roomy enough for outdoor lifestyle.
Agreed $6.5-7K would be an easy NP.
At $8000 this is priced right without the ABS warning light. $8K is the market price. It needs to come down unless the warning light gets resolved.
This is a NP. There’s no way I want it, but if owning one of these is your desire this may be the lowest price you see for a while.
If you want something old and unique to spend every weekend repairing, this might be fun. There’s not many of these left (for good reasons). If you have better things to do on the weekends and like to drive fun cars, put the $12.5K into a different car. ND every day.
If you want a somewhat bland Alfa from the late 80's in black with 160K on the odo, this may be for you. I like that it is thoughtfully equipped with a paragraph of broken or not properly functioning items giving the new owner plenty of months to bond with this Alfa.
Yep, with that apparent repaint and the mismatched dash cover and steering wheel, I would want to know what has happened. Maybe the seller can find someone for Ohio State who likes the interior mismatch. ND for me.
Most I see are the adult male friend (18+) running away with the 14-15 year old daughter. You’re point is right though as many are not unknown abductions.
