Drivers are contractors because Uber/Lyft is a BROKER. That’s the important part that everyone keeps leaving out.

They are clearly contractors. By established labor law, there is no conceivable way they are employees, which is why California had to pass this special law to begin with.

Very interesting, and very cool. I have NEVER seen this. Is it possible this was only a thing in Texas or out west?

1973 was when 5 mph front and 2.5 mph buttons were mandated. The law itself wasn’t such a bad idea, but was 1973 for all models regardless of where they were in their design cycle, which resulted in a lot of hideous tacked on rubber.

I seem to recall they started coming in around 1973 and were required for model year 1974. Some of them were okay, others thoroughly hideous.

No they won’t, or else it would have been done already. The “beauty” of capitalism is that someone else will find a way to do it that puts even more money in their pockets and less in the pockets of the people actually doing the work.

Props to Tesla on blocking them. JD Power is to research as Trump is to intelligence.

Mahk for the win!

“This JD Power Report On Absolutely Anything Is Bunk” - fify.

Statistically syphilis is rare but I’m not paying $88,000 for it

The reason these things didn’t catch on is that no-one knew how to turn them on.

It’s the only one most of the owners will see regularly.

Oh my.

Hyundai - rhymes with Sunday

I’m so not excited right now.

You know you’re a Jalopnik writer when your first thought is ‘maybe I can spend more money and buy a ‘new’ 30-year old frame and part over my 30-year old components’ instead of ‘I should go buy something actually new.’

Dude.....Just buy a modern mountain bike.
