With the automated quality control and high-level training modern factories have, the day of the week the car is build on does not have influence on the car’s reliability.

I didn’t write that headline. "Fascinating" is what I went with.
Raphael Orlove: “Non-EVs should be banned now.”
According to a guy on Reddit, the actual thing that happened was the driver leaned over to pick up something from the footwell, and the car started rolling. He tried to push the brakes to stop it, but stomped the throttle instead, and probably panicked when it shot forward.
Perhaps they are concerned about 5G cellular causing COVID-19 and wifi radiation weakening their immune systems.
That engine as generator for tools has me intrigued - since there’s a 240V outlet in the bed, this means you could rig this up into a hell of a dive vehicle - by taking a small electric air compressor with you. Lots of remote locations you could dive a lot more frequently with that set up - and you could avoid hauling…
Sorry Torch, Toyota filed this idea with the Patent Office Oct 14, 2016 predating you by a year. I’d say you are channeling Toyota rather than the other way ‘round.
It’s a combination of:
1-Hellcat vs Apache (the lack of supercharger saves height so they can likely mount it differently than a Hellcat motor would be)
2-the Bronco’s existence
3- Needing something to add extra demand for the JL, because I think it’s a hair short of what their expected sales were.
It’s safe to say it was…
It all depends.
In my many companies, the styling team has LOTS of power over final designs. Perhaps a CEO would give it a stamp of approval, but otherwise, when it comes to styling, I don’t think every company takes a committee approach.
To throw my unwanted opinion in the ring, I actually do agree with Trump saying that NASA (and really SLS) was a shit show 4 years ago. Now, I don’t think the turnaround is at all a result of Trump, but rather the progress of SpaceX.
If you guys could check your ego at the door it’d be very, very simple.
Perfect example of why jalponik is most garbage automotive site on the web.
“This truck sucks because the unemployment rate is high.”
Production ready might be being kind. ENVI ended up being a prop for the 2008 bailout loans provided by the Bush administration and was shut down by Marchionne after Fiat bought Chrysler out of bankruptcy. The Circuit was a concept EV based on the Lotus Evora just like the Tesla Roadster, the Wrangler EV was a 2 wheel…
Is Jalopnik still a site for automotive enthusiasts? Am I missing something?
1. This truck is about the same size as a Ram 1500 in Length and a 2500 in Width and Height. The hood scoop isn’t that obtrusive. If you’re saying that driving a half-ton sized pickup around in a city sucks, I guess you’re right. That isn’t really a fresh-take, though. Nose visibility is poor in all trucks this sized.
That 4.5-second 0-60 time is impressive for a 6,400 pound truck, but why does it need to weigh that much?
I love this truck and I do love Jalopnik, I’ve been a follower since 2008. But for the love of god, can you guys just write automotive articles without predicating them on heated and politically debated topics. Just providing a hyperlink doesn’t add to any credibility and it takes away from the actual content at…
Yes, the NHTSA is notorious for just taking the word of drivers.
Bradley, you and other writers here have made the same case. Pedestrian deaths are up (they are, at a 30 year high). SUV and Pickup sales are up (they are). SUV’s and Pickups will do more damage to the human body when an impact occurs (it will). Ergo, SUV’s and Pickups are causing the increase in pedestrian deaths.
