Frames had to be manufactured and VIN matched specific to each vehicle they were being replaced on.

You’re forgetting how much further forward the semi truck would be if he were at the same point when the truck pulled out.  He might have missed it entirely had be not been going 25-30% faster than expected.

If it had bad rust, the frame was replaced under a service campaign.

The further issue is that it doesn’t make up for its performance disparity to lower priced cars like the faster Mustangs and Camaros with luxury or heritage. At least the BMW version has the badge and luxury.

The biggest hangers-on to the idea that EVs are weak little appliances are the truck crowd. Once you stomp on them in a drag race while towing a trailer in a vehicle aesthetically similar to theirs, they’ll finally start to come around.

There is a very good reason why this will be the most important EV since, probably, the Model S.
