This is true, however there are roads that cyclists just shouldn’t be on. One type that comes to mind are winding country roads full of blind corners with no shoulder and a 55mph speed limit.

If the cab and bed are separate, probably not.

I’d say it’s more efficient than lazy. This is a vehicle that should be bought for function and cost over form.

It’s a purpose built platform. Mostly shared with the Prius.

Interior quality always increases as size does in model lineups, across basically every manufacturer.

I agree with almost everything you said... except that it has as much space as a Pilot.  The interior of the Outback is pretty narrow.

I thought the same thing, however an experience I had today in my 2016 model front wheel drive sedan made me realize it was not true.
