My parents’ new (well, 5 years since he moved in) neighbor tunes his two methanol fueled drag cars in his driveway/garage. My dad just goes over and drinks beer with him when he does it. The guy across the street is losing his mind over it.

My motor scooter track growing up involved a lot less work, but it was just a little 41cc Cobra. Start, cross the front yard, around the boat (until it sold), cut back to around the willow tree, down the side of the house missing all the pachysandra, straight across to the bridge, across, around the apple tree, then…

They were thinking “wow, a huge, established automaker is giving us a massive facility to give us a big head start in manufacturing? We’ll take that.”

It hurts me to say this, because this is my favorite car of all time (I was obsessed as a child), but I have to go CP, just because so much has been modded and beaten up. To bring it back to good cosmetic condition would take a lot of time and/or money, and then you still have to worry about how much aftermarket stuff…

Nah. I don’t hate it. I don’t love it either, though. I know a lot of people who like it. Outside the automotive community (especially outside of the internet feces-throwing community) it’s much less polarizing.

You could always put your hand down to your side or pocket your phone while crossing the street. I use my phone for navigation in other countries and I make a point to never look at it while crossing streets. I always either pocket it to cross or put my hand down at my side.

I really think it’s players like Burfict (and a few others) that the league needs to set up strike policies for. 3 incidents like this should cause a more severe punishment. He’s not going to learn if it’s just a fine and a couple weeks out.

The average new car price isn’t the average car purchase price. There is a used market for a reason. There are plenty of reliable, efficient used vehicles out there that can be bought for a few grand. I own one. I’ll reiterate my point. Cars aren’t too expensive. People just want cars they can’t afford.

Well, there’s always the Pacifica plug in hybrid. 30+ miles of EV range. Using it for daily commuting, you’d probably barely use gas at all. If you have a 3rd kid, you’ll be thankful for the minivan, too.

I never got a letter jacket because I didn’t want to spend the money on something I didn’t think I could wear after high school. I remember going to college and seeing a handful of freshman guys wearing them during orientation, then never again.

I have to ask- Have you ever worked a day on an automotive assembly line? If so, what task?
