To be fair, that quote was not in reference to Roseanne so much as some hypothetical, but probably inevitable, innocent person (or one who is less culpable than Roseanne) who is accused who loses everything in one foul swoop then ends it all.

I almost said that Hank and Dean were innocent and that they were more likely to view the stories with the wide-eyed anticipation of children. However...that’s not really the case anymore. We see that more with Dean, I would say, but the Venture brothers have matured right along with the show. Impressively so, I would

Also, instead of a battle over belief (why can none of the adaptations get it right...) - we just get them punching and kicking IT at a lot - and somehow that works.

I like the movie however I agree with some of your critiques. Part of why I think I liked it was that I thought the cast was pretty good. I am also probably guilty of filling in the gaps of movies where I have read the books. But overall I actually liked it quite a bit.

The one thing that I missed most was the

I don’t think that’s what he meant as such. However, as others have noted, he did also say this:

that money was long gone already. And those aren’t the type of kids who are jumping on a payment plan. Better to just ignore the past loss

Ah, thanks. It’s been a while.

Maybe the Big Villain/Little Villain program is something new, or just something that you have to sign up for or something. That would make sense since villains get to test the waters, then if they aren’t very good they get paired with a partner. That or it’s just convenient retconning.

But

I took it that St. Cloud was not formally a member of any sort of organization. As such, I would kind of guess they thought it was just some weird guy with a grudge because Billy bested him in some trivia competition (this was a while ago so I’m going from memory and a quick Internet search). To me the difference here

Didn’t we have our second Michael Kors reference from The Monarch last night as well?

As for the “oddly specific yet appropriate pop culture references,” that is a very endearing quality I find this show shares with Archer. I appreciate how they not only find these references, but how much this show really rewards you

I had real trouble with Billy and White’s reaction to news of their arching once it was explained to them. They’ve been arched by St. Cloud before, in both Seasons 5 and 6, and St. Cloud annoyed, not frightened, them. I don’t buy that the Guild’s over-the-top language would terrify them so much.

Never said I was a good person.

That’s what you thought I was saying?

There’s no accounting for taste.

Oh, recognitions. How I enjoy these exchanges and your witty sarcasm.

Anyway...I can disagree or express a differing of opinion or philosophy without feeling defensive. But believe what you want.

I don’t feel defensive about it at all. Just that I do not necessarily feel an affinity toward people (or not) due to their skin color.

And yes, I realize that as a straight white guy I’m amongst the least harmed by what’s going on. It doesn’t mean what’s going on doesn’t affect me though, either directly or because it

I don’t really consider people “my crew” just because we have a similar color tone of our skin.

That said, I know a number of Caucasians who are rather openly opposed to what’s going on and speaking out against Trump and what he’s doing.

Beyond that, there were other factors affecting said must unlikeliest of

Straight white man here. Trump’s behavior negatively affects us too, and a lot of us don’t like him either.

But we are, you know, in an age of holding people responsible for their words and actions. [snip] [Y]ou don’t want people getting the idea that they can reverse a firing of someone who did something REALLY bad. I’m not sure where I stand on it (not that it matters) but I suspect people might be as confused as me about

1. Johan is a spelling error that somehow almost works.
2. It probably was confirmed, but I can see it being left intentionally ambiguous so they can touch on it later to either fully confirm or deny it.

Speaking of the “little boy who looks a lot like his current arch-nemesis,” what are the odds Dr. Johan Venture Sr. is really father to both Rusty and the Monarch? They look a lot a lot, enough to where (given a mask and some grooming on the Monarch’s part) people thought Rusty was the Blue Morpho. and Dr. Venture Sr.
