Oh, recognitions. How I enjoy these exchanges and your witty sarcasm.
Anyway...I can disagree or express a differing of opinion or philosophy without feeling defensive. But believe what you want.

I don’t feel defensive about it at all. Just that I do not necessarily feel an affinity toward people (or not) due to their skin color.
And yes, I realize that as a straight white guy I’m amongst the least harmed by what’s going on. It doesn’t mean what’s going on doesn’t affect me though, either directly or because it…
I don’t really consider people “my crew” just because we have a similar color tone of our skin.
That said, I know a number of Caucasians who are rather openly opposed to what’s going on and speaking out against Trump and what he’s doing.
Beyond that, there were other factors affecting said must unlikeliest of…
Straight white man here. Trump’s behavior negatively affects us too, and a lot of us don’t like him either.
But we are, you know, in an age of holding people responsible for their words and actions. [snip] [Y]ou don’t want people getting the idea that they can reverse a firing of someone who did something REALLY bad. I’m not sure where I stand on it (not that it matters) but I suspect people might be as confused as me about…
1. Johan is a spelling error that somehow almost works.
2. It probably was confirmed, but I can see it being left intentionally ambiguous so they can touch on it later to either fully confirm or deny it.
Speaking of the “little boy who looks a lot like his current arch-nemesis,” what are the odds Dr. Johan Venture Sr. is really father to both Rusty and the Monarch? They look a lot a lot, enough to where (given a mask and some grooming on the Monarch’s part) people thought Rusty was the Blue Morpho. and Dr. Venture Sr.…
[mock outrage]”Nonsense” lyrics?!!!!! Blasphemy! 10001110101 has incredibly poignant lyrics.[/mock outrage]
I think their lyrics are a nice mix of nonsense, humorous narrative, storytelling, and some deeper meaning to some of their songs. The Regulator tells an interesting story. The Mob Goes Wild actually has an…
Riiiiiight. You are clearly an expert and selective filtering because for all the stories about police doing horrible things (and there are, I do not deny that) and evidence we have work to do to correct that (again, I totally agree with that), there are also numerous stories of police doing the right thing. Seconds…
Find me a good cop and we’ll talk.
Not really on the “Warrior race” and “rite of passage” things.
I thought the proving aspect was from the comics (and their connection to the Xenomorphs) and how the Predator only went for the armed men (not the female who, if I recall correctly, Schwarzenegger told not to pick up a weapon because then she’d become a worthwhile target). Point being, I thought it was at least…
Clutch has been churning out consistently great music for decades now. I may not have loved every single thing they have put out, but I think they are an excellent band. So count me in the “Looking Forward to the New Album” camp as well.
I finally got to see Clutch when they co-headlined a show with Primus last year (crossing off two bands from my bucketlist) and agree with you, AND think they have kept putting out some great music. They also really bring it in their live show! Pure rock & roll energy.
At this point, I’m excited there’s a new Clutch…
Yeah, I find it interesting and unfortunate how many of us have let that whole “innocent until proven guilty” thing fly out the window. Now, all somebody has to do to prove their guilt (at least in the Court of Public Opinion) is come across as smug and the next thing you know we have people positive of some past…
That the Predator gets “upgraded” ignores that the whole point of the previous films (or at least the first two) is that it didn’t NEED upgrades
Well, shooting her in her foot and not her abdomen would be a good start.
That’s because Cops on a rampage is so damn common. It’s almost the default setting these days. So yeah, they get no benefit of the doubt anymore.
So the moral is we’re really doubling down on the asshole part here? Just checking.
That is why I said that I wished more officers were less liable to shoot unless they were certain a loaded gun was being pointed towards them.
