I honestly don’t remember when I learned that, it might just have been when I was doing research to learn how to make it at home. The first time I really enjoyed it (my second attempt), my BIL had made some with scrambled egg and carrot as the fillings, which really helped me acclimate to all the flavors and textures

Meh.

I give one of my friends a hard time about leaving all vegetables off his burgers, but it’s more because he has the eating habits of a 19 YO college student (think fries, wings, etc) and he’s approaching 30. At some point he’s going to start paying for it (if he’s not already).

Tomatoes are in the nightshade family, so it doesn’t really surprise me that some people have minor or bad reactions to them. I love them but I came to realize a couple of years ago that I get bad acid reflux every time I eat them.

As long as there are drunk and/or high people, I don’t think Taco Hell is going away. I literally can’t eat their food anymore though; apparently switching to cooking most of my own in my mid-20s robbed me of essential stomach flora to digest shitty fast food... like that’s a bad thing :P

I relish setting people straight on that. Also, the word sushi actually refers to the seasoned rice with combined ingredients, not the fish. That’s another one I correct when I encounter it... one friend posted a picture of a sign that said ‘cooked sushi’ at his local grocery and he was all ‘ha ha employee mistake’.

Ah Daria. No lie, I spontaneously earned that as a nickname in BCT...

Amusing anecdote with unclear relevancy: my senior year, flyers suddenly appeared on the hall walls that said “The beatings will continue until morale improves”. The administration made some noise about finding the perpetrator and some minor punishment, but they never did uncover him. A couple of years after

Oddly enough, I can get behind that.

Sounds like a classic ‘frenemy’. I have one of those; fortunately there was no virginity in the mix, but she found plenty of other subjects to pressure me about. I finally realized last year that she doesn’t respect my boundaries, and never really has, and frankly I’m better off without her. Seven months later, I do

I would pay a lot of money to see someone of ‘lesser repute’ seduce all of the people you just listed. I mean, I don’t need close-ups or anything, but at least scenes of them entering the hotel room, maybe snuggling, and then leaving. *resists voyeur brain*

I generally object to banning/burning books, but I would make an exception for that series, as well as the Fifty Shades of #888888 books. If only destroying them didn’t involve paying money first...

I gave you a star half because of your user name. *fistbump*

I’ve worked in a few food places and never seen it. Several years ago, some morons locally got arrested for doing far worse than spitting, but that was on the Thruway and as far as I know they were easily able to see who they were serving. Other than that I’ve not heard credible stories...

I’ve never heard of this before now, but I likes. Honestly as kind of an old school sci-fi geek, the video is what sucked me in first. (When I say old-school, I mean I used to read my dad’s Nova magazines and other random stuff from the 70s & 80s that he and my older sister had around the house, since at 34 I’m not

Mostly I cling to the hope that getting those reports filed is one step closer to the victim being able to get the restraining order they need. It’s the same reason I am the ‘narc’ of the neighborhood - I’m not afraid to call in a legitimate nuisance in the hopes of ending it in the long term. Granted, I do not abuse

I agree, I just don’t think the top guy should present it like ‘hey, he’s the only one who ever screwed something like this up, good riddance’. Would be nice to hear more about plans to prevent future screw-ups with say, training. Lots of training.

The information was already out there. She didn’t call the department up and badger for a quote, she repeated legit, previously reported news. Half of what this site is is a news aggregator. Integrity should not be in question here. You want to question morality, go look at all the people who’ve been doxxed or worse

I tend to doubt any criminal charges will stick, but, he better hold onto his ass if her family decides to pursue him in civil court. Burden of proof is a lot lower.

All too often officers aren’t willing to wade into ‘he said, she said’ situations. They’re extremely sticky, legally. It sucks but that’s the mind set of a lot of police (NOT all though, believe me I’m pro-LEO generally speaking).
