I was once offered an off the cuff job for a night with a catering company, and while I did work in the mall food court for two years, I've never done 'fancy' catering, so likely that's how he got the job as well.

I turned it down, because I'd have had to spend almost as much to buy appropriate clothes for the event

Six day trip to Yellowstone, drove out from Indiana, camped in NPS campground. food, gas, misc, one hotel night = about $900 for two people. :D (I'm not arguing, just giving a shoe-string budget example). Granted I'm not including my weakness for souvenirs in that number, but COME ON I NEED T-SHIRTS. Really, I do.

I was recently at a National Park, and when I went into a public restroom after an elderly Asian lady, there were literally shoe prints on the seat. I was not pleased but it was so busy in there I just had to suck it up, wipe the seat down, and go from there. I really don't get that mentality.

That actually reads somewhat like the military uniform standards, which might be where they adapted it from. Not that I think it has any place in a non-military school...

Close friends of mine were faced with the horrid decision to terminate much later than 20 weeks IIRC, because their child had a genetic condition that was inevitably fatal (no, I don't know what it was, because I didn't want to ask and drag that back up again). It was heartbreaking to watch them suffer through that,
