We're definitely talking small jobs (up to maybe 50 pages every blue moon) and very few and far between. I'm definitely looking inkjet and not laser.

I stick with Windows mostly because I know it inside and out. I think that's a valuable asset. The fact that people will argue all day over which is better suggests that both have their benefits and faults. If you're looking to dive into something new, make the jump. But if you like knowing your way around, you're

Thanks. No such thing as "off topic" in an open thread.

Nope. Official upgrade through the self-update feature. Trying to figure out if I got a bad install or if there's a bug that was introduced. I might have to Revo and re-install.

I'm thinking about getting a new printer for my home, which is sometimes used as a home office. I need it to be a scanner/copier and be network accessible (preferably wifi), and want it to have a document feeder, but otherwise it doesn't need to be too fancy. Does anyone have any make, model, or feature

Is anyone having crash issues (when simply clicking known-to-be-safe links) after the upgrade to Firefox 13?

1) Add the option to change the sound profile (i.e., silence) when it's plugged in.

Neat. I didn't know you could mount a folder on your Windows partition as a different drive.

Gives me the same info. And I leave the screen set to the dimmest setting almost all the time.

Yes, in that example, you'd need to own both, but I was actually intending to use the example of "johnsmith@smith.com" and not "johnsmith@johnsmith.com." I only meant to give different examples of email addresses for a single domain.

I'm not too familiar with the development process, but my fear would be the NON-professional developers who have contributed a number of great Windows tools over the years.

I think you get a limited number of email inboxes, but you can have unlimited aliases. So "john@smith.com" would count against your total, but if you created an alias of "johnsmith@johnsmith.com" and made it forward to "john@smith.com" it wouldn't count against your total. Plus, you can buy more inboxes if you need

You sound as though you're not a Windows user. I know a lot of people love to hate Windows, but I have never had a problem with how customizable the OS is. I can do just about anything with it that I've ever wanted.

Can't you get a Kindle/Nook on the secondary market? I would think even the resellers on Amazon could hook you up with one.

I recommend a good wire brush to give the grill a good cleaning after it gets hot.

I was trying to find a news reader for iOS that worked well with Google Reader. I didn't like any of the LH App Directory selections, so I started playing around. I really like Newsify.

I read yesterday that Microsoft is going to start making developers pay for the software to develop apps for the traditional desktop interface, while keeping the development software for Metro free.

In Honeycomb as well, I believe.

I'm very happy with my Galaxy Tab 7 Plus. I think there's a new 7" tablet from Samsung with Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed (they claim my Plus will eventually get it, but I haven't seen it yet). It's a little more expensive than the Kindle Fire, though.
