Is there a way I can check whether I have a single RAM chip or 2 in my laptop without physically opening my laptop (i.e., via software)? I know I have 4 GB, but I'm not sure whether that's 1-4 GB or 2-2 GBs.

Am I logging in wrong to the Gawker sites? There seems to be a multi-step process: click the 'login' button, click the 'login with Facebook...etc." button, try to log in, have it tell you that you need to log in with Facebook, etc., click the appropriate button for the service that you want to use, pop up separate…
Given the statement that "3 Idiots" is the highest-grossing Bollywood film in India, I'm now very curious what the highest-grossing Bollywood film is worldwide. Is there a significantly different taste in Bollywood films outside India? I didn't realize there was any substantial taste in Bollywood films outside India.
I just put my whole OneNote folder structure in Dropbox.
Boooooo. I've maxed out my referrals and am still about 10 GB short of the 32 they allow.
So the article says, effectively, "it may work, sort of, but only for old versions of Outlook, so no promises." I'm curious whether anyone has had success/failure in real world application of the software. I'm using Outlook 2007 if it makes a difference.
For those who are using it, how does it handle backing up an Outlook PST file when Outlook is open? I know Outlook makes it difficult for other software to access the PST, so it can be tricky for backup sofware to deal.
I'll admit I didn't read the whole post. It does seem to be buggy. It was only opening my documents (at all - same window or not) about half the time, so I disabled it.
Actually, scrolling down on the same page, there's an even simpler way:
Neat, so that works, thanks!
A couple of my rss feeds involve tags from Gawker sites (e.g., [lifehacker.com]). For the main Gawker sites (i.e., lifehacker.com), there you can tack on a "/vip.xml" to get the full text of the articles; but for that doesn't seem to work for tag-specific entries. Any idea of how to get the full text of those feeds…
So when I open two MS Word windows (in Windows), it actually opens two windows. When I open two MS Excel (version 2007) windows, however, it'll give me two entries in the task bar, but they both open up in the same window, which makes it harder to tile/arrange them. Anyone know how I can force two separate Excel…
Not true. If you have 5.0, then you can hit the home button twice and the camera option will appear. With the latest update you only have to hit the button once.
You don't have to. With the latest update you hit the home screen and you can get straight to the camera app. That one (very small) aspect of this case seems to make sense.
Where do the links take you? Phishing? Bootleg Canadian Viagra?
When you say "it updates," does that mean that Mozilla updates Aurora, or that my Aurora install updates itself? In other words, even if I know that there's an update today, if I still have to download, find the apk, and install everyday...that's annoying.
Aurora: There doesn't appear to be a way to ask it to render pages (ahem...Lifehacker) as a desktop browser. It's infuriating that it goes to m.lifehacker instead of www.lifehacker no matter what I try to have it do. Also, will it update itself or at least notify me, or do I have to keep checking for an updated apk…
comment approved (though I know nothing about the recommended software)
Oh, so the local store owners think that people should buy from them instead of the big box stores? Shocker. Look, I get that there may be some incremental local benefit to buying from a local store. But the implication of the story is that it's ok to 'stick it to the man' by telling people not to buy at the big…
This may have been said, but I find the distinction between "local stores" and "major corporate chains" nonsensical. Does he think those "major chains" fly in billionaires from other states to work the cash registers? And to say that he "values" certain "benefits" at the local stores? If there are no benefits to…
