And, oh yeah by the way, the number of cable providers that carry CNBC exceeds those that carry FS2 by a factor of 10, if not 100. CNBC would be an acceptable alternative. FS2 is not.

Indianapolis 500 coverage has been sold separately from the rest of IndyCar in the past, so there’s no reason Fox and/or the WEC couldn’t do the same for Le Mans. I don’t know how many years the contract is for, but if I were at the WEC, I would insist on coverage guarantees for major races before renewing with Fox or…
I don’t know that the ratings will tell you anything. The coverage change was so last-minute that I’m guessing that it was too late for many cable providers to change their on-screen channel guides. I watched what little coverage there was yesterday and got up at 6:30 looking forward to flipping back and forth between…
Which is sad, considering that when F1 drivers are no longer competitive, they go to IndyCar and NASCAR and win championships. Anyway NBCSp does an excellent job with F1, so Fox has no excuse for covering Le Mans so poorly except their own apathy.
What, effectively no coverage is the best we can get? Like most cable systems, mine doesn’t carry FS2. I also don’t have unlimited data, so streaming two hours of live race video isn’t an option, even if I didn’t mind watching it on a tablet, which is lame. So, for me, Fox’s coverage is basically non-coverage. I don’t…
I disagree. If you have two huge events that often come into conflict, guaranteeing that you’re going to anger a large number of people whatever you do, then you need to give up one of them. If I were at the WEC, Fox Sports would be getting an earful now and again when the contract is up for renewal.
