Hmmm... beg to kindly disagree... “No attention to calorie restriction at all” is pretty much ‘The Secret’ (that crazy book about wishing for things and miraculously getting them) for eating and a death sentence for someone like me.

There are MetRate tests, but they are expensive and pretty unpredictable, but you should see a doctor if you can’t lose at the generally recommended calorie levels. Other issues like thyroid may be involved and can be tested. My Endo had me track everything I ate and all of my activity, just to prove I wasn’t deluded,

I totally agree... for me it’s baked goods. Sometimes nothing will substitute for a (small) perfect slice of warm artisan bread with (a little bit of) butter. Don’t tell me to ward it off with kale... which is vile, by the way.

I have lived like this for most of 30 years... and it sucks. A few years recently lost to a series of surgeries and had to fight back. But yes, I can imagine it, I have done it and I hate it.... but it’s either this or obesity. I am at my medically ideal weight but people occuse me of having an eating disorder because

Exactly! I suspect they have had naturally slower metabolisms all along contributing to the initial weight gain.

From personal experience, I suspect that the contestants already had unusually slow metabolisms which contibuted to their weight gain in the first place.
