I don’t accept that assertion that “people wouldn’t buy it anyway”. This is an excuse people like to foster so they can feel better about stealing. If you want to use something that someone else made that has a price tag, then you need to pay...this is a simple concept. People who can’t afford it right away can wait

Ha! Ok...we will just have to agree to disagree who’s statement is crazier. I hope Santa brought some nice new tinfoil hats for X-Mas.

There was backlash from people on Xbox One who didn’t have internet connections or shoddy internet connections. I also think people were very misinformed (by Microsoft) about the benefits. People already accept always-online for vast amounts of their media intake now, I think lots of people were just balking at

I saw no evidence that the “masses” didn’t like Microsoft’s strategy. A whole lot of people yelling on the internet don’t constitute a majority. Though, MS did a very poor job of explaining the benefit to the users of “always-on”. Like I said, the whole launch of the Xbox One was a mess. I still think their strategy

Microsoft should have stuck with their original plan, they would have had everyone online for Azure usage and Kinect integration. They would have had a lot more tools to separate them from the pack. Don’t worry though, that console strategy will make a come back, I’m sure of it. Most PS4 and Xbox One users could

Exactly, the always-on, digital only (I was really referring to consoles here) will help squash the problem. I have no problems with that. Pirates have pushed the industry in this direction. It really isn’t going to be an issue for most gamers.

Because they didn’t pay for it. If they enjoy it, then they should pay for it. Getting something by stealing is not ok.

I think in the end the pirates will lose. Once games become digital-only (which they will) it will be much easier to create software to prevent piracy. Plus, new trade agreements between countries will result in much more active shutdown of pirate distribution from within each countries borders and criminal charges

Free MMOs, free online games in other formats (flash, etc), free games on iOS and Android. If you have a console and pay for PS+ or Live, while not technically free...you get a crap load to play there. There are also TONS of games on Steam under $5. Humble Bundles often put games together that work out to well less

Why would you worry about what the people think who aren’t paying for the games? There are LOADS of free game options for kids now.

But that’s good isn’t it? People who don’t pay for games shouldn’t be playing them anyhow. In this day and age of free and dirt cheap gaming, pirates really don’t have any excuses anymore. There is more than enough free games now to keep anyone busy.

I love the G700 mice. I have a G700 and a G700s and I can’t imagine gaming without them. Wireless performance is astounding and I love the feel and button placements on these mice.

I really enjoyed Dante’s Inferno. It was great fun, controlled well, had an interesting story, amazing visuals and some of the best creature designs I’ve seen in gaming.

Yeah, it seems way too expensive from the looks of it. I mean, it looks little better than the stuff you win at an amusement park (though hopefully not filled with Styrofoam balls).

No, I’m still describing games locked to a piece of hardware. I cannot simply log off on a WiiU and log in to another WiiU and get all my digital purchases. The process to transfer your account is arduous and limited in such a way as to make the process of using digital purchases on two machines impractical if not

I don’t agree it is “legit for Nintendo” though. I own multiple machines for many other consoles and iOS and I am able to use my account openly on all the hardware. You can’t play at the same time on multiple machines on Steam or Xbox 360, but I can simply log out of one machine and log in to another and have complete

Not by the evidence of others here who have lost software from breaking or losing machines.

Nope, I simply can’t log off one machine and log in to the other. I have to go through a very long and painful machine transfer process. This is tying the account to another machine. Yes, you can move it back and forth if you have a few hours, but it is still effectively tied to the machine for all practicality and

No they are not, they are also tied to the machine. I can’t use my account on the our two WiiU consoles, but I can use the same content on all my Microsoft devices, Sony devices, Apple devices without any hassles.

Get him to agree to writing a therapy plan after he finished the game and include statements starting with “The most disturbing thing I can never un-see is...”; then we can talk.
