My pleasure! I’m definitely just a “casual” fan, in the sense that I read The Hobbit and the Lord Of The Rings just once, never got around to the Silmarillion, but I’ve watched the extended editions of the LOTR trilogy countless times, and the Maple edit of The Hobbit definitely feels like a good companion piece to

I’m sure eventually there will be a fan edit (like the several ones that are out there for the Hobbit trilogy*) that takes the best parts of the Whedon version, like the “Save one person” bit, inserts those into the Snyder Cut, and trims the fat, (so much slow motion!!) so the end result is a typical 2hr45 min

Right?! It’s so bizarre.

Weirdly most of the reviews so far are good. I'm not emotionally invested in it either way, I'm gonna give it a watch and see how I feel about it.

Yep modern Mazda's have great grills. A great design language, really.

Phone. I rarely use my laptop for these sites anymore, too many ads and slideshows. To be blunt, the only reasons I still come here is nostalgia and habit. Been coming to io9 and Jalopbik since about 2008, but if I would discover them today, I would never ever come back. The user experience is laughably, astoundingly

I installed adblocker on my phone literally just for io9 and Jalopnik. The difference is absolutely astounding. In Chrome it was an ad every 3 sentences.

That's a good choice, I could definitely see that.

I've seen Benedict Cumberbatch pop up a lot in fan wish lists, but I think off the top of my head I'd go with Ralph Fiennes.

Well said. Of course Rambeau isn’t the real hero of this show, it’s Wandavision, not Monicavision, how is that not clear?

Ultimately it doesn’t matter because even if Hamill had 20 videos gushing praise and talking non stop about how much he loved it, *I* (and tons of others) would still dislike it immensely, and that’s putting it mildly.

Touché! I will remain perplexed to my dying day how someone who loved TNG could possibly like Picard. I watched all episodes of it out of sheer loyalty, hating it and myself more each passing week. But I’ve since come out of the tunnel on the other end: I just don’t spend anymore time thinking about Picard, Discovery,

Indeed. There are tons of videos of Hamill basically openly hating what they were doing to his character. But yeah, Patrick Stewart didn’t seem to mind, I bet those millions of dollars cancelled out whatever reservations he had, if any. I just don’t consider it as canon - to me Picard is just random fan fiction, with

God what an abomination of a show Picard was. I'd blocked that torture porn scene from memory but there you go reminding me of it.

Abrams wanted to make a Star Wars movie, figured he never would be able to, so took the next best thing he could get his hands on, Star Trek, and Star Wars-ified it.

According to the Audi USA website they sell an A4 wagon:

How crazy is it that as a concept, the station wagon is basically dead in North America, and has been for quite a while, but at the same time, Porsche has 2 (two!) separate ones in their model range?

This hit me hard... My son just turned one. Obviously we don’t know each other, but my heart aches for you. I simply can’t even imagine. I’m so, so sorry.

Agreed with everything you said. This just looks like a random show about kid aliens, with the Star Trek name slapped on purely for brand recognition.

Ok so I have to ask, sorry if this is a dumb question: why doesn’t anyone go to their (or any) bank for a loan, before they go car shopping?
