That’s fair. I'm genuinely happy that some people enjoyed it and got what they wanted, I wish I was one of them.

I appreciate it! :)

Again, I think we should agree to disagree and let’s leave it at that. I’m not going to convince you, you’re not going to convince me, so let’s not keep going, we’ll both just end up frustrated. I don’t that passive agressively, mind you.

Acting like people liking something you don’t is “suspicious” is narcissism of the highest order. I’m truly sorry you couldn’t find enjoyment in this, but please don’t act like because you didn’t other people are “brainwashed” if they do.”

To be frank, so far the people that disagreed with me seem to just be annoyed by my negativity itself. I haven’t seen anyone really defend or counter any of the stuff that I’m calling Picard out for.

I’d happily continue discussing this with you, but I’m tired of being called pathetic, so I’m gonna have to pass.

This whole identity thing is childish nonsense that you’ve concocted. I mean, you started watching TNG in what, 1995 (if you’ve been a fan for 25 years, as you claim), so after it finished. And you’re here to lecture and gatekeep me, a person who watched it from the start, about what is and isn’t Trek.”

You’re extremely hostile, extremely arrogant, and extremely keen to gatekeep what Trek is, so takes one to know one, I guess. Except at least I’m not a ghastly pathetic gatekeeper.”

“Why are they all sobbing about Picard dying when they all know there’s a blank golem sitting in the other room?”

“FWIW, I actually agree with many of your nitpicks”

And Insurrection is seriously bad.”

Also the profanity and gore. Who, just who decided that Star Trek should be off limits to children?”

Ok this is going nowhere fast. You’re very hostile, particularly for somebody accusing someone else of just that.

It’s ironic how you accuse me of being hostile etc and then spend multiple paragraphs insulting me and my taste in tv shows.

What are you talking about?

The TLDR makes you sound like a jerk, but the TNG screengrab is funny, so now I'm confused.

How would that equate to saying, “yeah, it’s Picard alright!”, and not just a copy.
I mean, imagine if they “mapped his brain”, but then Picard didn’t die. Then, are BOTH of them Picard?”

A show for adults? Were we watching the same show? Allow me to quote myself:

Thanks for your thoughtful reply, and I can see where you’re coming from, but I strongly disagree.

Nice to see there are some sane people left! Although I’m now seeing more and more negative reviews pop up all over the internet, so maybe there is still a sliver of hope that the powers at be will realize the error of their ways. Maybe future Trek shows will be good again!
