Disney was incredibly stupid for not sitting down with a team of EU writers and plotting out a story for 7-9. Making this shit up as they go is how you get a soft reboot in 7 and a destruction of every story thread and SW trope in 8, with no cohesion whatsoever to 1-6, or even each other.

“You’ve underlined the exact issue. These aren’t your films. It’s not your franchise. Yet you’re acting like you’ve been personally wronged.”

“This is the reason why I don’t like SW fans. You complain about a fictional universe so much it’s a turn off. The Last Jedi is still a far better movie than the Prequels.”

I may have expressed myself badly. In TLJ Hux is a bumbling idiot who literally gets tossed around. He's a punching bag, a comic relief type dweeb. He definitely did not start out that way in TFA, and that's my point. They took his character in a horrible direction.

this. so much this. I want to just copy and paste your comment on all articlestalking about the TLJ. You have summed it up almost perfectly.”

I understand what might’ve driven you to that if you liked TFA more than I did. I wasn’t particularly enamored of Hux..”

Just go away. Obsessing over Star Wars is a relic from the times when nerd=sexless, white manchild. These times have thankfully passed, and it seems, passed you by.

*slow clap*

People don’t want seem to want to consider it fitting in with The Force Awakens but it really does.”

I didn’t love TFA, far from it in fact, but Hux was a good antagonist. Ambitious, cold, and cruel. It sucks for the character that his sole purpose became being a ragdoll for demonstrations of force powers.

It didn’t mock ESB in particular, it mocked Star Wars in general.

Telling you that you’re not convincing me isn’t trolling, man, but whatevs.”

Sort of a “here, you can join our club, but we want you to dress the same, talk the same, act the same but hey, we’ll let you keep your food and your ceremonial trinkets when the plot demands it!” The Federation should fizz with diversity and culture. It doesn’t. It really, really doesn’t.”

I was afraid you’d end up trolling me, but I decided to hell with it, it’s a boring train ride and I’ve got nothing better to do, plus I was hoping against hope we’d end up having an interesting discussion. Ah well.

Like I said, that’s fine. I’m genuinely happy for you. I wish I liked it, it really bums me out how much I hate it, but I do. Boy, do I.

I’m really not being snarky either, but how do you not see his point? (I’m in the grey on Kotaku anyway, so...)

Thank you for that wonderful reply. Nailed it, really.

Trolls are gonna troll. Too bad but ok.

Actually, I did. Maybe you haven’t watched Goodfellas, or don’t understand context. I’m going with #2.

Well, you’re incorrect. This doesn’t feellike clickbait, and he’s provided evidencethat you’ve admitted to no knowing, or understanding.”
