It’s slang that people at places like Gawker and Buzzfeed are intent on shoving down the mainstream’s throat, until everyone knows what it is. Then everyone uses it, let’s say for a year, and then the people that shoved it in our faces to begin with write thinkpieces about how slang affects language and how people

Can’t believe I had to scroll all this way down to find this. In fact, I just kept scrolling because I desperately had to find a comment like yours, and would have been distraught with the world had I not found it.

I will never, ever understand why people (online) are so eager to heap praise on others that go out of

Hell yes. God I love my ‘99 9-5, and it’s not even an Aero, nor a wagon.
Indestructible and super smooth.

It’s so the bad guys can’t see them bleed, obviously!

The worst bat-equipment has to be the pair of machine guns and missile launchers on the ‘89 Batwing. He has Joker in his sights, and still, no hit whatsoever. Come to think of it, it’s probably the targeting mechanism that’s broken!

I really enjoyed his performance in the first two Mummy movies, honestly haven’t seen him in anything else. Even there, he always seemed like a unique and rather endearing mix of awesome action hero and bumbling doofus. I guess it’s his face! I’m hoping he’ll have a comeback one day. And he should do a Bruce Willis

Wow, I knew it was bad, but not *that* bad. Damn!
(There’s a part of me that wonders if I’m being trolled by photoshop...)

ETA: Ok, so it’s photoshop, right? I feel dumb. Don’t really care about BMW though, and I’ve felt the models look too alike for a while now, so I just figured it was the real deal. Made me look

I don’t particularly like or dislike BMW, but I thought the 1 series with the trunk attached to it was really quite ugly. Reminds me of a bland econobox.

Jezebel and Gawker are good for snark, and for quick empty updates on trivial and/or breaking news. Actual in depth reporting, however, is a joke. It's abysmal. I hate read both, and I can't seem to stop.

*mic drop*

I don’t remember Maz Kanata’s face having a strip of faux-wood running across it?

That was excellent.

Are those rear lights just taped on?!

Exactly, jesus christ. All these people with their faux outrage, it really is remarkable. And indeed,*super* condescending and infantilizing.

Huh. That surprises me, seeing as how Wikipedia says it’s “Gawker made.”

I mean that is of course what we’re all thinking. It makes sense they would be told by their lawyers not too. And if that’s not the reason, I can think of a few others. But then why did they post the trial update everyday where people could watch the proceedings live? They shoved the lawsuit down everyone’s throat,

Was it ever? Wasn’t it under the Gawker umbrella from the start?
That’s a rhetorical question since I looked it up, and it was. Is the internet wrong?

Yeah, that’s my point. It’s so strange. I wonder how the writers at the other blogs feel about their colleagues (and bosses) that got them into this mess.

The Daily Beast, but it doesn’t have comments. The Daily Banter, but it doesn’t post updates all day long like Gawker. Mediaite is interesting. Plenty of comments.

I try to steer clear of Salon, Buzzfeed and Huffington Post because they’re regressive liberals’ bastions, although I admit visiting the latter two as a

My heart goes out to the io9, Jalopnik and Kotaku people. I don’t ever go to Lifehacker and Deadspin, so I wouldn’t know anything about them. But to be honest I saw plenty of hypocrisy about stuff like this on Jezebel too, so I’m not exactly tearful for them.
