The kid was treated unfairly, that much is unquestionably true. Taken downtown, police, etc. That didn’t need to happen that way, and it’s shameful. So on that we can agree.

But you know that islamophobia is a bullshit word, right? Islam is not a race. People from all over the world and of all skin colors are muslim.

I can only imagine accidents at intersections involving teens driving cars, and head on collisions with large brain matter, teeth, and tongues strewn upon the road.

They are according to Pixar! I agree with Torchinsky, the eyes of a car are in the headlights. I’m getting the impression some people are under the impression that I was using that illustration to prove that the eyes are supposed to be in the windshield, when in fact I was using it to show how weird and horrifying it

That’s the whole point: None of the windows are eyes!

People are dumb.

It seems you’ve misunderstood my point, I am most definitely arguing that the eyes should be in the headlights. The point of that illustration was to show how creepy it would be if they were in the windshield.

Exactly!

Wait, what? People drive with their left feet hanging out the window?! Never in my entire life have I even considered that as a thing that was possible. You’ve seen people do this?

But how? What about the insides of the car? Are the windows no longer transparent? Is there a brain behind the opaque windows?
The horror!!

I remember feeling so relieved when I finally read your article about this when it first appeared, because I thought I was the only one bothered by it up until that point. Keep fighting the good fight!
Cars’ eyes are in their headlights. Period.

Holy crap that is great!

Thanks for being the voice of reason. Kudos!

In all seriousness though, isn’t it kind of likely that some of those cars can be salvaged? I mean, get a tow truck, pull ‘em out, and there you go? Or am I completely wrong in thinking that? Important: I don’t know the first thing about the inner workings of engines, shock absorbers, etc. Just going on visual

I love that thing in my 9-5. Makes for a great smartphone holder too. (Hello Google Maps!)

ETA: I love everything about my 9-5. It’s not a “redeeming” feature as that implies I dislike the rest of the car, which I don’t. It’s great!

It’s fascinating to me how Saab can be on both sides of the reliability spectrum. I’ve read many stories of people with glitchy, crappy Saabs - so I wouldn’t casually dismiss them - but on the other hand there are tons of people online that can’t stop talking how wonderful their Saab is.

That’s a pretty awesome plane, it has that wonderful Thunderbirds retro sci fi vibe going on. It could be a design from the show.
Still, I’d rather have this one:

How the hell do you not hear that driver reacting? You hear his car, you hear the environment, but not even one single “oh shit”. The driver just silently watches as a massive airplane falls from the sky and explodes into a huge fireball, like it ain’t no thing.
I was very relieved to hear that “fuck” at 1.16 but at

Orange is the new black, after all. See that Dolezal person.
