Both aren’t used to confessing feelings. Plus Geralt keeps beating himself up with the whole “they took my feelings away”, Yen even scolds him about that as she knows it isn’t true, as seen in Shard of Ice.

i never read the books (just started) I was team Yen from the get go. Geralt needs someone who challenges him and who is as forceful, if not more so than he is.
But that’s only because Geralt and Yennefer are really headstrong, to the point of stupidity
CdprojektRed nailed with Yennefer’s design.
It’s cool that they were inspired by the model, but didn’t just flat out recreated her in 3d.
Those lips man.
Yennefer is supposed to be this ungodly beautiful person and they absolutely nailed it. She’s in my opinion, probably, the prettiest 3d lady ever made in a game.
Also, there’s a reason she’s as prickly and acid as she is.
She wasn’t born this beauitiful and lived her whole life as an abused, deformed hunchback before she learned arcane arts and modified herself through it. Hard to be a soft hearted person when the world has treated you like shit for over 90 years (yup, Yennefer…
Yup. I’ve always liked Triss, but Yennefer and Geralt are, well, Yennefer and Geralt—there’s a reason ballads have been written about them. It fits the whole Geralt = Dad, Yennefer = Mum, Ciri = Daughter and Triss = Ciri’s big sister dynamic a little better, anyway. Can’t wait for the official translation of the…
Got to support this 100%. You barely even hear about Triss ‘til what, book 2 or 3, and even then she’s massively overshadowed by Yen. Yen ftw.
I feel like I’m the opposite of normal on this. While I’ve read some of the short stories, and wiki articles, My main experience (and my first experience) was with the games, and in Witcher 1 and 2, Triss all the way, but for 3 it just made way more sense to me that Geralt reconnect with Yen and I loved that…
I think who you choose had a great deal to do with your background on the source material. If you only played the games, you’d be inclined (heavily, I’d say) toward Triss. If you read the books leading into the Witcher games, you’d lean heavily toward Yennefer.
Not a complete one, she very much loved Ciri, and saw her as the daughter she could never have. Yennifer is flawed in many ways, but there is more to her than you think.

I like Triss, and if I’d only played the games there’s a decent chance I’d prefer her, but having read the books, I can’t help but love the adorably disfunctional family unit that is Yennefer, Geralt and Ciri.
