Has anyone considered a freeze of interest (permanent or for a fixed period) and a $10,000.00 debt cancellation? That would two types of relief and would assist longer term. Additionally, the U.S. should at least set student loan interest at some amount less than commercial rate-  say a maximum of 4% permanently.…

Just to be clear, I meant a traditional drive shaft connecting to the rear differential. There are drive components going from the motor to the wheels along the axle (or in the case of the AWD, axles).

My recollection is that the car has no drive shaft.

Hasn't anyone read SM Stirling's "Change" series that cover this exact scenario? Electricity, internal combustion, explosives (including gunpowder) all stop working.
