Using shadows, SSAO, and bloom is kinda baffling if the goal is to emulate a PS1 aesthetic. Plus, the pixelation filter isn’t sampling properly, so the game appears to have anti-aliasing, which is again not accurate to the PS1 aesthetic.

I think the presence of a z-buffer is what’s ruining the aesthetic.

PS1 was capable of some pretty impressive stuff but that demake is not doing it properly. The ground is too simple and there is too many individual rocks. The rocks should be faked with textures on a more complex ground. Also some fog in the distance to hide the low draw distance.
